Ellsworth Smith Trumpet Competition

Huw is delighted to announce that he has been selected as one of the finalists in the Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Solo Competition, to be held in October at Boston University, USA.

Melos Brass Young Soloists Award

Huw has recently been awarded the Young Soloists Award of the Melos Brass Academy, held in Corfu. As part of his prize, Huw will travel to the Megaro concert hall in Athens next year for a concerto performance of his choice with the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Athens at the 2009 Athens Brass Festival.

QuintEssence

Huw is pleased to announce that the brass ensemble QuintEssence have been awarded a place as one of the finalists in the Jan Koetsier International Brass Quintet Competition 2008, held at the Hochschule fur Musik in Munich, Germany.

Gwynne Leyshon Prize

Huw is delighted to have been awarded the Gwynne Leyshon Prize as part of this year's discretionary awards at the Royal Academy of Music
